Start using Pocketalk SENTIO (AI Live Translation)
What to prepare:
- Computer or smartphone , tablet
- Microphone*
* If your computer is equipped with a microphone, you do not need to prepare it separately.
How to Use

Access the URL: https://live.pocketalk.com/ on the device which you would like to use Pocketalk Sentio on.

Log in with your Pocketalk ID or serial code.
Log in with your Pocketalk ID
- If you have a Pocketalk ID account, log in with your Pocketalk ID
- If you don't have a Pocketalk ID, you can create one by selecting the [Next] link by the "Don't have an account?", and create a new account.
Log in with Serial number
- If you have a serial code, select [Enter serial code].

Select [Interpret the sound entering the microphone] or [Interpret PC/browser sounds] that appears to start using the service.

How to use
Interpret the sound entering the microphone
You can use this feature for face-to-face meetings or online meetings where you're not using earphones.

After logging in, click the [Interpret the sound entering the microphone] button

In the [Select Language] dialog, select the two languages to translate and press [OK].
When the "Interpretation in both directions" option is turned on, Pocketalk Sentio will automatically recognize and translate the conversation in both the "Language of the other party" and "My Language" but please note that the accuracy may decrease when the two languages are mixed. -
An icon will appear in the bottom right, indicating the start of interpretation.
- You can turn ON / OFF the audio readout of the translation results by opening the [Read in My Language] option from the top right menu
- To stop the interpretation, click on the icon at the bottom center of the screen. Clicking on the icon will change it to a red icon , indicating that the translation is paused. To restart the interpretation, click on the icon again.
Interpret PC/Browser Sound
You can use this feature for online videos, seminars, or online meetings where you're using earphones.

After logging in, click [Interpret PC/browser Sounds]

After clicking [Start interpreting], follow the on-screen instructions [How to interpret PC/browser sounds] to specify the screen to be interpreted.

Select the languages to translate in [Select Language] dialog and press [OK].

Options available in the Menu Button
You can tap on the Menu Button at the top right corner of the screen to bring up the various options for Pocketalk Sentio.

General
This option allows you to choose the microphone device to use Pocketalk Sentio on and also change the System Language.

Display Switching
Allows you to show or hide the text of the language of the other party.

Read in My Language
Allows you to turn ON / OFF the audio readout of the translations.

Download Translation History
Allows you to download and save the translation history in text format. Clicking on the [Download Translation History] button, will export the translation history as a CSV file.
Even if you turn the “Save interpretation history” on after the meeting is ended, you can still download the translation history as long as you have not closed the browser. -
Plan Information
Allows you to view your current subscription plan or upgrade to a paid plan (if currently on a trial plan).

When Unsure of which Mode to Choose
Please refer to the below for the details on which mode is best suited for your situation.

[Interpret the Sound Entering the Microphone] Mode
This mode is best suited for face-to-face meetings / conversations. -
[Interpret PC/browser sounds] Mode
This mode is best suited for translating sound coming from your PC, such as at online meetings or when watching videos.
When the Microphone does not pick up any Sound
If your microphone isn't picking up any sound, we recommend you to try checking the microphone settings in Sentio.
Go to the menu button at the top right corner. Select [General], then click on the [Microphone Icon] to confirm that the correct microphone is selected.
Additionally, make sure that your browser's settings allow microphone access, as blocking it might prevent the microphone from functioning properly.
When the Sound from your Online Meeting / Browser Sound is not being Recognized
If the sound from your online meeting or browser isn't being recognized, check the screen sharing settings dialog and make sure the correct screen or tab where the sound is playing is selected. Changing the specified screen may resolve the issue.
Changing the Text Size
You can adjust the text size using the slider located in the button section at the bottom of the screen.
Unable to save the "Download Translation History" file
The date range in which the translation history that can be saved, is "one day before the current time + the current day”.
- Example 1) If the current time is "20-Sep-2023 12:00:00": The period in which the translation history can be saved for, is from 19-Sep-2023 00:00:00 to 20-Sep-2023 23:59:59.
- Example 2) If the current time is "21-Sep-2023 00:00:00": The period in which the translation history can be saved for, is from 20-Sep-2023 00:00:00 to 21-Sep-2023 23:59:59.
